The Road Map

Executive coaching is a three-way partnership: the executive, his or her manager and the coach himself.*

The aim is to achieve a total alignment between the agreed objectives and key progress indicators to make sure that misunderstandings or frustrations are kept to a minimum. At the same time, the road map provides the executive with a very powerful indicator of the value the organization places on him or her

The road map will set out:

  • the objectives of the program
  • the means available — the number of sessions, confidentiality agreements etc.
  • the role of the coach — tools and techniques employed — experiential models, performance improvement, conflict, competency modeling, skill building etc.).
  • interaction with the executive's team — role, presentation, motivation, level of involvement.
  • key progress indicators — ongoing evaluation against pre-determined success metrics.

* The road map will be agreed between the executive and the coach in the case of an individual coaching assignment which is not financed by the organization.
